Geological Challenges: Large areas of weak expansive soil and gravel soil, which swell upon contact with water and are prone to piping and embankment failure
Solution: Layered filtration with geotextile + anti-seepage with geomembrane, using the "gold-wrapping-silver" construction method to wrap expansive soil, isolating moisture to suppress soil expansion
Measured Data: The phreatic line of the dam body dropped by 0.8m, seepage pressure reduced by 30%, no scouring or piping during heavy rainfall, saving a large amount of externally purchased high-quality clay fill, reducing project costs by over 20 million RMB
