Rural Access Road / Factory Temporary Hardened Road
550g nonwoven geotextile for simple reinforcement and hardening.
This project adopts 550g/m² nonwoven geotextile for the reinforcement and hardening of rural access roads and factory temporary roads.
Project Background
Rural access roads and factory temporary hardened roads are subjected to frequent heavy vehicle traffic, requiring the road base to possess sufficient load-bearing capacity and stability. Traditional pavement structures are prone to mud boils, subsidence, and cracking under the combined action of subgrade moisture and vehicle loads, affecting通行.
Solution
By laying 550g/m² nonwoven geotextile at the subbase, the following functions are achieved:
- Isolation & Filtration: Prevents the intermixing of subgrade soil and the base aggregate, maintaining the structural integrity of the base layer.
- Reinforcement: Utilizes the tensile strength of the geotextile to distribute vehicle loads, reducing localized stress on the subgrade.
- Drainage: The geotextile's in-plane permeability allows subgrade moisture to dissipate promptly, preventing base softening due to water accumulation.
Product Specifications
- Product: 550g/m² nonwoven geotextile
- Material: Polyester (PET) / Polypropylene (PP)
- Width: 4–6 m
- Tensile strength: ≥18 kN/m
- CBR puncture resistance: ≥3.0 kN
Construction Process
- Subgrade leveling and compaction
- Laying of nonwoven geotextile with 30–50 cm overlapping at joints
- Backfilling with aggregate and compaction
- Paving of surface layer (optional)
Benefits
Compared with traditional solutions, this approach reduces material costs by 20–30%, shortens construction time, and extends road service life by more than threefold. It is especially suitable for low-traffic rural roads and temporary factory access roads, providing an economical and efficient road hardening solution.
